Big sister

Gentry came to the hospital this morning to meet her baby sister, Harlow. She was very curios of the baby. She sat on the bed with her for awhile, and just stared at her and pointed out her toes and diaper. Harlow and I are both doing very well. She is nursing and I am recovering quickly from the c-section.

Harlow Browning Knecht

Baby Girl number two was born December 26th at 8:08am. She weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces, and measured 20 inches long. She has lots of dark ashy hair that has some curls in it. She has Gentry's nose, and makes some of the same faces that Gentry did when was a tiny baby.
She is very alert when she is not sleeping. She hasn't nursed yet, but we have been trying all day, and will continue until she figures it out. Harlow and mommy are both doing great. Praise the Lord for healthy babies, and modern medicine!
Although we are so exhausted, Alex and I are so excited to have her here with us!

Merry Christmas

Well, if I didn't post this TODAY, you all would have been jipped of a Christmas blog from us Knecht's. Gentry woke up having no clue that this morning would be different than any other morning. Poor thing, that's how her next couple of days will be too. She will wake up at a friend's house tomorrow morning, as we will be in the process of having a baby! And the next morning, she will make a trip to the hospital to see baby sister! Oh the changes she can't even see coming...
But, back to today, CHRSITMAS! Here are some pictures from our morning (well, it was about 10:30am after daddy FINALLY got up!) of opening presents which took all of 10 minutes. But she got some fun gifts and has been playing with them all morning!
We don't have any family in town right now, boo-hoo, so tonight we were invited to a friend's house for Christmas dinner. Then off to the hospital early tomorrow morning...today could not go by fast enough.

This post would not be complete without these wonderful words:

The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Pregnancy Update

Yes...I am still pregnant. Not a surprise as Gentry was a week late, and really I am only 38 1/2 weeks right now. But long ago I was hoping this "polyhydramnios" issue would produce an early arrival for the baby. NOT SO (and I have come to terms with that)!!!!
But...I have a c-section scheduled for the 26th, so I know that in 5 days, we will have baby girl number two!
Really, this has been a lesson from the Lord of my patience and contentment, and it has been a good lesson for me. And I can say that I am truly grateful to have this last week to spend with Alex (he is done with work for awhile) and Gentry before the baby comes.
So be sure to check back in a week or so. I will update the blog with pics and stats as soon as I can!!
Thanks for all your prayers and support throughout my pregnancy!

Thanksgiving...And it's almost Christmas!

I've been meaning to post our Thanksgiving Day pics. We had a great day spent with family. All of our family is out-of-state besides a few, so it's always nice to have people visit. The day was spent with Alex's cousin Jake, and wife Dara who just moved here!! Yea, we are recruiting more family to Northern Colorado!!
We had the typical Thanksgiving dinner, which is Alex and my favorite meal of the year!

Yummy Turkey!

Jake's parents were here as well, helping Jake and Dara move.
Gentry met Jake's dad, Dan last June, and was obsessed with him back then. She spent all day attached to him! Very Cute!

Yes, It Snowed!

We got our first official snow overnight. Gentry looked out the window for about 20 minutes this morning at all the snow and the big trucks scraping the snow.
Last winter she was too young to really "play" in the snow or remember it.

Since she was refusing to nap this afternoon, I decided to take her and Effie out for a little hike in the snow. She had a pretty good time, besides a few face-plants and Effie knocking her over a couple times. And...it sent her into a meltdown which in turn got her to nap! We all WIN...

Face Plant!!

Effie always loves a good romp in the snow!

And this change of weather, can't be a bad thing for me, you always here about the change in"barometric pressure" sending women into labor. Oh, I am crossing my fingers!!
